Medication Support
Assessment results can be shared with a medication provider to help inform treatment discussions and potential medication options. Medication prescribing is not included in the assessment.
School & University Support
Documentation may be useful when discussing academic accommodations and support needs in K–12 or university settings.
Workplace Accommodations
Your results may support conversations regarding workplace accommodations or ADA-related requests. The CDC notes that some people with ADHD may benefit from workplace accommodations, depending on their individual needs. CDC
Primary Care Coordination
Results can be shared with your primary care provider to support continuity of care and future treatment planning.
EAP Support
Assessment information may also be helpful when coordinating Employee Assistance Program services and other workplace resources.
What Does an ADHD Assessment Look At?
ADHD can involve more than difficulty paying attention. Depending on the individual, symptoms can include challenges with:
Attention & Focus
Difficulty sustaining attention, becoming easily distracted, or struggling to complete longer tasks.
Executive Functioning
Challenges with organization, planning, prioritizing, time management, or completing tasks.
Impulsivity
Difficulty pausing before acting, interrupting, or struggling with waiting and self-regulation.
Hyperactivity or Restlessness
This may look like physical hyperactivity for some people or an internal sense of restlessness for others.
There are three recognized ADHD presentations: predominantly inattentive, predominantly hyperactive-impulsive, and combined presentation. Symptoms can also change over time.

90-minute assessment with a qualified master’s-level clinician

ADHD diagnosis involves more than simply taking a single test. A comprehensive evaluation considers symptoms, history, how those symptoms affect everyday functioning, and whether other conditions may better explain what someone is experiencing.

Our ADHD diagnostic assessments are available for:

K–12 and university students who may be experiencing difficulties with focus, organization, executive functioning, impulsivity, or academic performance.
Professionals
Individuals seeking greater clarity about symptoms affecting their work or those exploring potential workplace accommodations.
Adults Seeking Answers
Adults who have wondered whether ADHD may explain long-standing difficulties with attention, organization, restlessness, task completion, or executive functioning.
Individuals Seeking Treatment
Those who would like diagnostic clarification before discussing medication or other treatment options with their healthcare providers.
ADHD can present differently throughout a person's life, and some people are not diagnosed until adulthood.
Additional Documentation
Some individuals may need additional documentation beyond the standard diagnostic assessment.
Optional support letters or documentation: $25
This may include documentation related to school, university, workplace, or other accommodation requests when clinically appropriate.
Additional paperwork: $25 per 15 minutes
Additional forms, records, or paperwork requiring clinician time may be billed in 15-minute increments.
The type of documentation required varies by organization. A diagnosis does not automatically guarantee that a school, employer, university, healthcare provider, or other organization will approve a requested accommodation or service.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the assessment take?
The assessment appointment is approximately 90 minutes and includes a clinical interview and standardized ADHD testing.
Is the assessment just a questionnaire?
No. Standardized rating tools can be an important part of ADHD assessment, but they are not intended to function as a stand-alone diagnosis. Clinical evaluation also considers history, impairment, and other potential explanations for symptoms. CDC
Can I take my results to my doctor?
Yes. Your assessment results can be shared with your primary care provider or medication provider to help inform future care and treatment discussions.
Does the assessment include medication?
No. The assessment provides diagnostic evaluation and treatment recommendations. Medication evaluation and prescribing would need to be completed by an appropriate prescribing healthcare provider.
Can I use my diagnosis for school or work accommodations?
Your results and optional documentation may be used to support accommodation requests. However, individual schools, universities, employers, testing organizations, and other programs establish their own documentation requirements and ultimately determine eligibility.
What if something other than ADHD is contributing to my symptoms?
Part of an ADHD evaluation is considering whether symptoms may be related to ADHD, another condition, or multiple factors. Conditions such as anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and certain learning disabilities can produce symptoms that overlap with ADHD.
